This teaching was delivered at Elon’s Kol Nidrei Service for Yom Kippur on Sept 20, 2026. Yom Kippur is a day of repentance and return. It is a day for the Jewish community to consider its actions of the past year and commit to living better in the year to come. This sermon explores the power of speech and how we can choose to use it for good.

This teaching was delivered at Elon’s Rosh Hashanah Seder Service on Sept. 11, 2026. It explores the intersection of memory and shofar, core themes of the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah. This year, Rosh Hashanah coincides with the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Jewish Life at Elon welcomed the incoming class of 2030 with a shabbat dinner and Jewish activity fair. Rabbi Maor Greene delivered a teaching on how the Jewish community at Elon supports one another. Representatives from Hillel, Chabad, AEPi, AEPhi and Hebrew Club also attended the event.

Through a two-year fellows program, the six students in this multidisciplinary cohort will undertake mentored undergraduate research projects, enroll in specialized coursework and engage in community-based learning with diverse religious communities.

Alexander Silbiger was a young child when Nazi Germany invaded and occupied his home in the Netherlands. On Feb. 12, Silbiger told the story of his family's escape from the country in Elon University's Holocaust Remembrance Day speaker event.
