The former broadcast television news director served on the school’s National Advisory Board for nearly two decades, offering invaluable insight and advice on the communications and television industries to students, faculty and staff.

The lecturer in the School of Communications served as the lead judge for the 2019 Youth Observation Contest, a student competition organized by the Journalism Education Association of China.

The assistant professor of journalism was selected as one of 15 faculty members from colleges and universities nationwide to learn more about entrepreneurial journalism at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication this summer.

Multimedia journalist Melanie Saltzman will host a community-wide presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in the screening room of McEwen Communications Building.

Led by Assistant Professor Alex Luchsinger, four student journalists recorded documentary video interviews with global Internet Hall of Fame inductees, including Larry Irving and Jean Armour Polly.
