A new, free HealthEU course, offered during Winter Term, allows students to engage more with the Alamance County community.

The university was recognized this month by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, in partnership with the American Council on Education, for its commitment to community and civic engagement.

Nearly 200 students are recognized for their work with the community during fall 2025.

Years after graduating, Junie Vargas ’21 continues to carry the lessons she learned at Elon into her work with Charlotte Family Housing. By welcoming students into meaningful engagement, she shows how service creates lasting change for both volunteers and the communities they serve.
