His passion for community-based work and leadership roles while at Elon helped prepare Kaufman for a meaningful Peace Corps experience.

A group of Elon students volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity building site in Burlington on Friday as part of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. 

Elon 's Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement is a proud partner in America Reads, a national initiative established in 1996 by President Bill Clinton designed to ensure that every child can read independently by the end of third grade. 

Winter Term 2019 will offer students a broad array of opportunities to explore these themes throughout the next month.

Service opportunities, gatherings and other special programs at Elon during January will commemorate the life and work of the late civil rights leader. 

Elon was a partner in the conference, which focused on learning about and lifting the souls of black and brown women and girls. The event was held at Shaw University in partnership with the Raleigh/Apex chapter of the NAACP. 

The NC Therapeutic Riding Center in Mebane, North Carolina, offers equine centered activities and therapies that help empower riders to create a healthy and happy lifestyle.
