Civil liberties lawyer and Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, in a Distinguished Leadership Lecture at Elon University School of Law, said he believes a special counsel investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election might end with more criminal indictments - just not of President Donald J. Trump.

Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and famed civil liberties attorney Alan Dershowitz will visit Elon Law in the next academic year as part of the Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series presented by the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation.

Five graduates of Elon University School of Law were among 16 attorneys selected for the North Carolina Bar Association's Leadership Academy, a program designed to "help young lawyers become more effective leaders in their communities." 

Ahmed Mohamed, Chris Tarpley and Tyrra Walker - members of Elon Law’s Class of 2019 - accepted distinguished work placements as part of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession 1L Summer Associate Program.

The longtime associate dean for experiential education and leadership stepped down from Elon Law in January after joining The Citadel in South Carolina as assistant provost for leadership and department head of Leadership Studies.
