Loy Farm

A delegation from the State Department visited Elon to learn about service-learning in a presentation from the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement and had a chance to serve with students on Loy Farm.

This guided tour includes visits to the solar farm, responsible design studio and agricultural farm.

The annual report offers a look at the various ways that Elon students participate in service work each year and their opinions about service. 

Twenty-four new Elon students spent the week at Elon and in the Alamance County community serving nonprofits and learning about the area. 

Assistant Professor of Biology Jen Hamel headed a program focused on insects using the resources Elon’s Loy Farm offers. 

The university has been named repeatedly to the list by the environmental organization, which looks at sustainability practices, carbon footprints and recycling efforts.

More than 100 Glen Raven Inc. customers from across the country and Mexico visited the Environmental Center at Loy Farm for a May 12 banquet as part of a summit that highlights innovation.
