From AIG and the mortgage meltdown to Bernie Madoff’s greed, everyone, it seems, is talking about ethics in business. Elon University faculty harnessed that interest Tuesday in a panel discussion that debated what role morals should have in the business world, regardless of economic climate.

In another sign of its commitment to teaching ethical values, the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business has formally adopted the Principles of Responsible Management Education, which connects the university with an international group of business schools that encourage social responsibility in the creation of a sustainable global economy.

Elon University students Danny Bell, Paul Benedict and Todd Cash placed second in the Best Practices competition at the regional meeting for Beta Alpha Psi, the honorary organization for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals held late last month in Nashville, Tenn.

Entrepreneurial thinking and innovation will be critical strategic advantages to the American economy as the global economy increases competitive issues across industries. More and more companies and organizations are looking to hire students with this thought process.
