Professor and faculty pianist Victoria Fischer Faw was featured as guest artist in a solo recital, master classes, and as judge of high school and collegiate piano competitions March 11-13, 2010, in the Dr. Sharyn Edwards 32nd annual Piano Festival and Competition at Southeastern North Carolina Community College.

Tony Sawyer, Elon Director of Bands, spent spring break working with the Besana Marching Band in Besana, Italy.

Victoria FIscher Faw, a professor in the Department of Music, presented a lecture recital in January to the High Point North Carolina Association of Music Teachers titled "A Mere Bagatelle."

Stephen A. Futrell, an associate professor of music and director of Choral Activities, appeared as adjudicator for the Prince William County District IX Choral Festival in Nokesville, Va., from March 19-20, 2010.

Tom Erdmann, professor of music, was an adjudicator at the North Carolina Central District Bandmasters Concert Band Festival held at Graham High School on March 17 and 18.

The world premiere recording of Steve Heitzeg's song, "Is Everybody Else Alright?" performed by Polly Butler Cornelius, soprano, and Victoria Fischer Faw, piano, in September 2008 at Elon, was placed in the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library in Boston on March 2.

Jon Metzger, associate professor of music, adjudicated and performed at the Essentially Ellington Regional High School Jazz Festival in conjunction with Jazz at the Lincoln Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Feb. 25.

Elon Director of Choral Activities Stephen A. Futrell, along with vocal music majors Josh Carswell and Jesse Palmer (both members of the Elon Camerata), have been invited to sing in the vocal ensemble appearing with Ben Folds for his performance in Raleigh, NC with the North Carolina Symphony on March 25, 2010 at Maymandi Concert Hall.
