Graduating students in Elon’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program were honored Thursday, Dec. 11, in a pinning ceremony recognizing their achievements and the importance of their future work as nurses.

The newest alumni of Elon University’s School of Health Sciences were encouraged to ground their careers in human relationships, compassion and purpose during a Commencement ceremony attended by hundreds of close family and friends.

Lavender Celebration, ¡Celebremos! and Donning of the Kente united 2025 graduates from the School of Law and School of Health Sciences to honor the influence of relationships, culture and authenticity in their academic and professional achievements.

Seventy-five posters were presented by students in the School of Health Sciences as part of its Annual Global Engagement and Research Forum on Dec. 8 in the Alumni Gym.

After years of teaching in the classroom, Sarah Jenkins ’25 is hanging it up and putting on the scrubs as she earns a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree through Elon’s accelerated program.

Nursing Professors Jeanmarie Koonts and Cyra Kussman presented their work on growing the next generation of culturally competent nursing students through transcultural experiences and experiential learning.

The grant paid for the "Friday Night at the ER" game that simulated the real-world tasks of managing human and physical resources in a hospital setting.

The fellowship gave the Elon nursing student practical experience in her field of interest, just in time for graduation in spring 2026.

Assistant Professor of Nursing Lori Hubbard served as conference planning chairperson for the 2025 29th Annual Perinatal Partnership Conference held Sept. 7-9. Undergraduate research students and Nursing Fellows Julia Ricker and Gabi Carlson presented at the poster session during the conference.

The chapter is committed to supporting the professional development of future nursing professionals through student enrichment and hands on experiences and educational opportunities.
