From the baseball fields of Elon to working for the New York Yankees and sports media giant Overtime, Alex Day ‘16 has had a riveting and exciting career post-Elon.

The sport management major and Elon women’s soccer player served as a marketing operations intern in New York City.

The Elon alumnus, who has worked at The New York Times since 2021, recently joined the publication’s Culture desk, where he will focus on pop culture news and the intersection of sports and culture.

Elon’s New York City Regional Center hosts a series of events connecting students and alumni to the city.

Vreeland is the supervising producer for New York Times Cooking and is making a name for himself being featured multiple times on "Good Morning America," writing recipes and filming content in his supervisory role with The New York Times, and even making the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for media.

The Elon LEADS Campaign made stops in five cities this fall, bringing together alumni, parents and friends across the nation to hear about the profound impact donors to the campaign have made on Elon students and the future of the university.

The Elon University graduate produced a deeply personal story titled “Unlocking My Past & Finding a Connection to Slavery,” which recently won the Gracie Awards’ Original Online Programming in News category.
