Top local business and civic leaders on Tuesday toured Elon University’s new home for physical therapy education and physician assistant studies.

Eileen "Ellie" Sorge '09 and Mark Archambault DHSc, PA-C, founding Chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies, were formally recognized at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine's Department of Physician Assistant Studies Hooding and Award ceremony on May 15.

The first clinical affiliation agreement for the university's physician assistant studies program is with Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Brenda Quincy, associate professor and academic coordinator of Elon's physician assistant program, had an article published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in January.

The New Leaf Society, of Burlington, N.C., has made a gift-in-kind to the Ever Elon Campaign to support the university’s new master of physician assistant studies program. The gift will support landscaping and other work associated with renovations of the Gerald L. Francis Center, which will house the PA and physical therapy programs on Elon’s main campus.

John G. Currin Jr., president and chief executive officer of Alamance Regional Medical Center and ARMC Healthcare since 2005, was honored at a June 22 campus luncheon with the Frank S. Holt, Jr. Business Leadership Award, Elon University’s highest honor for business leadership.
