Elon performing arts and music students and faculty provided entertainment in an emotional gala dinner marking the kickoff of the Ever Elon Campaign on Oct. 11.

Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin will speak at Elon University on Thursday, Oct. 16, during a campaign rally at Latham Park in the North Athletics Complex. Gates will open at noon, with Palin’s arrival scheduled for 3 p.m. Appearing with Palin will be music star Hank Williams Jr.

Hundreds of members of the Elon community gathered on campus Saturday, Oct. 11, to give their unanimous support for the launch of Ever Elon: The Campaign for the Future of Our University. The meeting was followed by a picnic lunch and formal kickoff dinner.

The Ever Elon campaign includes the launch of a new Web site that contains nearly 100 video interviews with alumni, parents, students faculty and staff members. Students have until Oct. 15 to apply for a new program that offers them the opportunity to discover who they are, where they want to go in life, and how to achieve their goals. "Charting Your Journey" includes a retreat, dinners and a one-credit hour course with a group of 10 classmates led by faculty and peer leaders.

This week, Elon launches the largest fundraising campaign in its history, focusing on the priority of building the university’s endowment. Today, E-Net details plans to complete key construction projects and build endowment to support ongoing renewal and renovations.
