The annual Conference on Queer and Transgender Studies in Religion will be held at University of California, Riverside on Feb. 18 through Feb. 20.

The year-long program will foster civic engagement, reflect on ideals of democracy and freedom, and increase college access for Alamance County high school seniors. It is funded by a $300,000 grant from the Teagle Foundation.

As part of their sophomore Periclean coursework, members of the Periclean Scholars Class of 2024 created interactive exercises and discussion questions related to the Common Reading, and worked with fellow Elon students as peer-educators to facilitate engagement with this text.

"An Introduction to Afrofuturism in Rap" is part of the Rap, Race, Gender and Philosophy course. The program is also part of the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity's Black History Month events around "Imagining a Black Future."

A series of events coordinated by the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education will celebrate Black History Month at Elon.

Femspec published Lange’s essay last month, the Journal of Popular Culture plans to publish another in 2022 and a third is under review. Lange is a Lumen Scholar and Honors Fellow whose research examines gender, age, race and disability in speculative fiction

The Service Learning Faculty Scholars program for the first time will include two cohorts of faculty and staff members ready to further integrate the service-learning pedagogy into the Elon curriculum.
