Physical Therapy

The continuing education opportunities brought more than 140 physical therapists from the state to Elon.

Forty-seven students received their doctor of physical therapy degrees at a commencement ceremony in McCrary Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017.

Elon's annual celebration of intellectual inquiry and scholarship features the work of eight accomplished faculty scholars as well as eight students who are working with faculty mentors on undergraduate research.

The School of Health Sciences hosted its second interprofessional education session on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017. The event included students from the Elon Physician Assistant, Elon Physical Therapy and Alamance Community College Nursing programs. 

The Elon University DPT Class of 2017 will hold commencement ceremonies beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, in McCrary Theater in the Performing Arts Center.  A reception will follow.

Brooke Powell, a third-year student in Elon's Doctor of Physical Therapy program, offered advice to parents about how to reduce the likelihood their children's backpacks will cause back or posture problems. 

The inaugural Healthcare Simulation Week, sponsored by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and held Sept. 11-14, celebrates global professionals who use simulation to improve the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Shefali Christopher, an assistant professor of physical therapy education, recent returned from Taipei where she was a member of the medical team supporting the U.S. team at the World University Games.  

Garrett Hoanin, class of 2017,  is participating in a Global Learning Opportunity at the Whiteriver PHS Indian Hospital and San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corp. in Arizona for his six-month final internship in the DPTE program.  

The July 12 anatomy memorial service paid tribute to those men and women who donated their bodies to science.
