Physical Therapy

The School of Health Sciences hosted an interprofessional education session on Wednesday, Nov. 30, that included students from the Elon Physician Assistant Program, the Elon Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and the Alamance Community College Nursing Program.  

The articles were published in the International Journal of Sports Medicine and the journal NeuroRehabilitation.

The associate professor presented on  interventions and how musculoskeletal ultrasound can guide tendinopathy treatment.

The affirmation from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education comes with a "clean report" and a commendation for the program's self-study report. 

Elon DPTE was well represented with 10 posters at the 63rd Annual Meeting of the American College of Sports Medicine in Boston, MA held between May 31 - June 4th

The American Society of Biomechanics held the first National Biomechanics Day at universities and resaerch facilities across the country.  The Departments of Physical Therapy and Exercise Science invited local high school students to participate in demonstrations and a tour at the Gerald L. Francis Center on April 13.

The DPTE research was recently presented at the Human Movement Science Conference in Chapel Hill, N.C., in the form of five poster presentations.

Elon’s School of Health Sciences welcomed two new classes of graduate students to the university community this week. 

Fifty-three graduate students received their Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees Sunday in a ceremony that recognized School of Health Sciences Dean Elizabeth Rogers, whose retirement in May will come 20 years after she arrived at Elon to help create the physical therapy program.
