The Charlotte Observer on March 25 published a viewpoint opinion column by Mat Gendle, an associate professor of psychology, who used his research on campus to warn readers of North Carolina's largest newspaper that tanning beds may, in fact, be addictive.

Two senior psychology majors presented their research March 27 at Wake Forest University during the 2010 Symposium for Young Neuroscientists and Professors of the Southeast.

Gabie Smith, associate professor of psychology, presented at the Southeastern Psychological Association conference held in Chattanooga, Tenn., March 12-14.

A research report authored by associate professor Mathew Gendle and Elizabeth Olszewski '09 has been published in the Spring 2010 issue of the Journal of the North Carolina Academy of Science.

The Portland (Maine) Press-Herald profiled psychology major Elianna Lantz in a Jan. 6 story on her experience with the Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound program, which the newspaper described as "an 85-day semester hiking from the Pacific Coast to the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica."

Meredith Allison, assistant professor of psychology, has published a coauthored paper in the journal Gesture.

Six Elon students presented papers Nov. 21 at the 5th Annual State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium held at UNC Wilmington. Several Elon faculty mentors accompanied the students.
