President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley '46 recounted stories from Elon's early years when he spoke with students living in Danieley Center as part of an annual dinner organized by the residential campus neighborhood.

A semesterly residential contest that challenges students in residence halls to use less energy starts this week and ends just before Spring Break.

Students and employees will square off against counterparts at hundreds of colleges and universities around the United States and Canada as part of a friendly competition to reduce landfill waste.

Alexis “Lexie” Kamerman’s colleagues and friends shared laughs and tears Monday as they celebrated a life cut short by a suicide bomber in Kabul, Afghanistan, where Kamerman had traveled to help educate women.

The former assistant director of Residence Life was one of 21 people killed in Afghanistan on Jan. 17, 2014, when a suicide bomber and gunmen attacked a Kabul restaurant. The service is set for 6:30 p.m.

Speakers, readings, service projects and a special College Coffee at Elon University are among the many programs that commemorate the legacy of the slain American civil rights leader.
