This week, Elon students, faculty and staff are involved in activities to mark CELEBRATE! 2019, a celebration of student achievements in academics and the arts. 

Seventeen undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education were inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education that promotes the highest ideals of the teaching profession, on April 18, 2019.

The lecturers in English write about what they've learned from seven years of teaching the College Writing for High School Juniors course they created.

Research from two School of Education faculty, and two current undergraduate students was presented at the American Educational Research Association Annual Meeting in Toronto.

Resa Walch, senior lecturer in wellness, was honored for her 22 years of service to Elon University by the School of Education faculty and staff on April 3, 2019, in the McBride Gathering Space. 

Kearns' research titled "Implications for elementary educators' abilities to accurately self-evaluate their mathematics teaching practices in relation to math anxiety levels" discusses the correlation and effects between high levels of female elementary school teachers and the fact that women tend to have higher anxiety levels when it comes to math. 

Research from two School of Education faculty and two current undergraduate students was presented at the Society for Information Technology in Teacher Education Annual Conference.

An April 1 dinner and ceremony included an address by Paula Stephan, a professor of economics at Georgia Southern University who is a Phi Beta Kappa visiting scholar. 

Kristen O'Neill's research titled, "Reading to Succeed: An examination of Interests and Motivations of Struggling Pre-Adolescent Readers," has been presented twice at the North Carolina Reading Association Conference, SURE at Elon, and most notably, at the Hawaii International Conference on Education.
