A community event organized by students in the fall semester “Garden Studio” course featured pumpkin carving, fall-themed baked goods, music and more in the Elon Community Garden.

Students in a fall semester Garden Studio course are leading an event that is free and open to the community from 2:30-5:30 p.m. with fall-themed baked goods, musical entertainment and pumpkin carving for children.

First event from the People, Planet, Prosperity Speaker Series is Thursday, October 23 at 7 p.m. in the Elon Community Church, Community Life Center

Created in 2013, the program provides students with a basic skill set the Peace Corps and its participatory countries need for successful community projects.

The Student Professional Development Center and the Office of Sustainability worked together to help students identify employers who value sustainability in their mission and/or operations. 

Prominent "foodie" and author Marion Nestle shared with her Elon University audience Tuesday night a brief history of American agricultural policies while suggesting ways for students to be advocates for better federal oversight of food production and marketing.

A new two-part "Phoenix Cup" contest sponsored by the Office of Sustainability gives students, faculty and staff an opportunity to win prizes by making team efforts to reduce their environmental impacts.

Fifteen first-year students spent a week earlier this summer exploring campus and the surrounding area as they prepared for the transition to their collegiate studies.
