The 400th anniversary of the death of Miguel de Cervantes and his novel, 'Don Quixote,' were celebrated with a weeklong event that included reading both volumes aloud.

The Department of World Languages & Cultures is pleased to announce a marathon reading of Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote de la Mancha on April 21, 2016. The marathon reading will take place in Carlton Commons from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, April 6, from 12:30-2:30 p.m., Dr. Van Bodegraven, Associate Chair of the Department of World Languages and Cultures, will be available in the Carlton Commons to answer student and faculty questions about language classes, language majors and minors, regional studies programs and global engagement opportunities.

Renowned Hispanist García Lorenzo will share his latest research, "Fuenteovejuna/El Paso/Ciudad Juarez: Reception across the border," during a presentation in Spanish in the Isabella Cannon Room 

Elon University senior Alexandra “Allie” Barteldt and junior Benjamin Lutz have each received a Critical Language Scholarship from the federal government to study Hindi in Asia, and Arabic in Africa, respectively.

Silvers's essay links masks from contemporary popular culture with 12th century corbel sculptures in southwestern France.

Elon faculty and students share insights into the romantic contemporary musical

Elon University faculty members Jen Guy Metcalf and J McMerty '00, with assistance from several students and alumni, collaborated to examine a love story through ages and stages of life.

The language placement assessment will be offered  for the final time during specific hours on the days listed below.  These will be the only times during the spring semester when the language placement assessment will be offered to current students.
