Welcome in any language can sound like music when actions accompany the words.  At Elon University we will say “welcome” many times, but more importantly, we want you to feel welcome.  The first time you undertake anything new, there is bound to be both excitement and apprehension.  As you think about coming to Elon University, look on the positive side and anticipate the meeting of new people and discovery of new customs and culture.

Isabella Cannon International Centre

The Isabella Cannon International Centre (ICIC) is available to help international students navigate the application process, arrival, and adjustment to life at Elon.  The services the ICIC offers are designed to help international students feel at home while studying abroad and to foster the growth of a global community.

Airport Transportation

The ICIC provides transportation from the Raleigh-Durham (RDU) or Piedmont-Triad (GSO) airports to campus for incoming students.  We strongly encourage you to inform the ICIC at least two weeks before your arrival if you need a ride.  The beginning of the semester is a busy time of year, and spots fill up quickly.  Information about airport transportation is available on the Traveling, Arrival, & Orientation page.

International Orientation Program

Once new students arrive on campus and before classes begin, the ICIC holds a two-day international student orientation.  Current Elon students serve as student mentors and orientation leaders.  They will provide international students with campus tours, information sessions, activities, and time to socialize with other students.

International Student Handbook

To help you prepare for your arrival in the United States, the ICIC has put together an International Student Handbook that provides important information on everything from applying for your visa to what to pack.  If you have any questions, contact the ICIC.

Visa Information and Assistance

Visa information will be provided during the application process.  For more information on the U.S. visa process, refer to the Visa Application and Information page.

ICIC Events

The ICIC organizes various events throughout the year including social events, trips to local and regional attractions, and International Education Week.
