Elon students, May/June 2012, Taglit-Birthright trip to Israel.

I just wanted to thank you so much for....allowing me to join this years Birthright group.... It was by far one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! The places were beautiful and the people were amazing. Israel was so amazing that I am going to see what I can do about living there for a little bit once college concludes. This trip went above and beyond any expectations I could have even imagined.Jamie Buyer '13
I was really surprised by my emotions at the Western Wall because I didn't really know what it was or why people went to it before we got there. But when I was standing there with my hands on it and saw how many people were there and thought about how for centuries my people had wanted to get to
that point and the stories the wall had seen, I started to cry.It was the best experience of my life and I am so blessed to have had the
opportunity to go. Arielle Weil '14

As for the trip, Israel was incredible. I can honestly say I grew dramatically as a person from the experience. I loved it so much that I extended my trip for an additional week. I can't wait to go back. I made friends all over the country, bonded with the IDF soldiers I was paired with, and grew on a spiritual level as well. I feel a much stronger connection with my Jewish identity now. And I know more. The entire trip really gave me some perspective on my life and my family's traditions.
I feel enlightened beyond belief. I highly recommend that any Elon student that is Jewish go on this trip, not only to go to the Holy Land but also to grow as a person. This was just he sort of life altering moment I needed as I prepare for graduate school.
