The Leon and Lorraine Watson North Carolina Scholarship Program aids North Carolina students who wish to attend Elon University and who have demonstrated self-determination, community involvement, and academic excellence. SCholarship recipients receive programmatic opportunities that ensure they will be able to obtain the maximum benefit of an Elon education. Watson Scholarship recipients participate in a four-year program demonstrating the best qualities of an Elon education. The program encourages full participation in all five components of the Elon Experiences: leadership development, service learning, study abroad, internship, and undergraduate research. Watson Scholarship recipients will receive a financial aid award toward the cost of tuition, fees, room, and board. Each annual aid award will include a Watson Scholarship and the North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant. Other scholarships and grants will vary. The goal will be to meet the direct costs of the university or the student's full financial need, whichever is less. In addition, each recipient will receive a one-time grant to fund a study abroad experience. To apply, contact the Admissions Office or visit here. The Honorable Thad Eure North Carolina Achievement Scholarship This is a distinctive scholarship program at Elon designed to recognize talented students with financial need from 12 counties in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. Three $12,000 scholarships will be awarded annually. Each recipient will also receive one $5,000 Elon Experiences grant in addition to other program benefits. The goal of the program is to provide an educational opportunity for high achieving students who might not otherwise be able to afford an Elon education. Eure scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to participate in programs and activities that are the hallmark of an Elon education, including a university-sponsored pre-orientation summer experience, the Elon Experiences (study abroad, internships, research, service and leadership), and a mentor program with faculty and community leaders. The Riversville Scholarship The Riversville Foundation funds three academic scholarships annually of $15,000 each for three full-time students beginning in the students’ sophomore year. Each scholarship shall be renewable for up to two years. Students are nominated for this scholarships, therefore there is no application process.
