 Jewish Life at Elon University  

 

    
A welcoming university for Jewish students, Jewish life at Elon University is both vibrant and growing. Hillel at Elon helps students find a balance in being distinctively Jewish and universally human by encouraging them to pursue tzedek (social justice), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and Jewish learning and observance.

  • Over 250 Jewish students on campus, plus Jewish faculty and staff
  • Student Board of 18 students committed to Jewish life on campus
  • 5-10 students each year participate in Taglit-Birthright, free 10-day trip to Israel.
  • 8 students participated in an Alternative Spring Break at Hillel Uruguay in March 2009  
  • One of 35 campuses nationwide to receive funding for a Grinspoon Israel Advocacy Intern for 2009-2010

Elon Hillel is an active and collaborative force on campus producing major campus events including Holocaust Remembrance Week, the Campus Hanukkah Party, a Sukkah adjacent to Moseley, Purim celebrations, Family Weekend Shabbat events, Passover Seder, monthly bagel brunches, Shabbat dinners, and Hillel BBQ.
