Chapel at Elon
Every Thursday
9:50 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.
Whitley Auditorium
Among the oldest of Elon's student traditions is the weekly gathering
called Chapel. Its form and content have changed over the years. Still,
Chapel serves as a weekly reminder that the purpose of an Elon education
is to see each student as a whole person, whose mind-body-soul deserves
respect.
About Chapel
Chapel is the place where "Faith and Learning Meet" and where
we "Touch the Soul ... Respectfully."
Chapel presents "faith" as a universal human experience, the
search for meaning in one's life.
Chapel respects "learning" as the essential dialogue with wise
teachers.
Chapel offers a weekly time for reflection about our personal journeys.
Chapel gives us time to reflect on distinctly human qualities like hope,
compassion, gratitude, reverence and commitment.
Chapel is open to people of different faith traditions.
Chapel includes time for music, meditation and prayer.
Chapel is voluntary. You are free to choose it.
