Programs
The Religious Life office sponsors the following programs each year: Turning
21 Celebrations, Hometown Heroes, Moravian Love Feast, Holiday Celebration
with Luminaries and Winter Feast.
Turning
21 Celebrations
Over the past four years, Elon has celebrated the 21st birthday of more
than 755 juniors and seniors. This quarterly program brings together students
and their faculty or staff mentors at a commemorative dinner.
Senior administrators, including President Lambert, have welcomed the
students to this rite of passage ceremony. Elon focuses on this 21st birthday
transition to help students fully accept their new adult status in life
and move with greater confidence into the future.
Faculty members offer inspirational after-dinner talks, sharing the wisdom
of their life experiences. Each program ends with the toast: "The
best is yet to be!"
Hometown
Heroes Program
The "Hometown Heroes: Models of Community Leadership" program
takes place in November. The Chaplain's Office salutes five persons who
are making an extraordinary difference by touching lives and strengthening
their home communities.
The Hometown Heroes of Class 2006
These leaders were nominated by members of the Class of 2006 through their
Elon 101 classes and selected by the Freshmen Class Officers.
