Our fall semester Accounting Major Information Session will be held on Tuesday, October 17th from 5:30-6:30pm in LaRose Digital Theater (1st floor KOBC). Click here for more information.

Accounting is everywhere – in corporations, government, non-profit and small startups. It is the best way to help you understand the operations of an organization. At Elon, we integrate cutting-edge data analytics tools in every accounting course. You will learn business processes, analyze organizational performance, tax-saving strategies and fraud examination techniques.

In addition to a traditional 4-year B.S. degree in accounting and an 11-month master’s degree, we offer an accelerated 3+1 dual-degree program, so that you can earn both the master’s and bachelor’s degrees in four years.

Whether you want to become a CPA, pursue a career in finance or corporate management, work in government, or become an entrepreneur, accounting can take you there.

Internships

Accounting majors are required to complete at least one internship for academic credit under either BUS 3985 or ACC 4985. Examples of internships students have completed include financial advisory services for Deloitte, risk advisory for Ernst & Young, tax for PricewaterhouseCoopers, audit for KPMG and operations analysis for Credit Suisse.

Graduation Outcomes

The accounting program prepares students to be a professional accountant in public accounting, corporate industry, government and other business organizations. Elon Accounting alumni work for employers such as Baker Tilly, BDO, CohnReznick LLP, Deloitte, EY, Grant Thornton, KPMG, Lincoln Financial Group, PwC and RSM.
