Duncan George '25
A cobblestone street in Prague turned Duncan George ’25’s sketchbook concept into HiveU, a digital marketplace designed to unite Elon entrepreneurs. During a Business Fellows trip, George toured a Czech fintech firm and outlined his idea: a shared storefront and integrated payment system where student-run ventures could attract customers together. The CEO said, “Let’s build it,” and weekly Zoom sprints soon bridged six time zones.
Prague developers integrated their payment technology while George applied lessons from his business courses to U.S. compliance and branding. A functional demo debuted in summer 2025, backed by a waitlist of more than 20 student enterprises eager to join. The team planned to begin onboarding that list in the fall, refining features with each rollout, and to open HiveU to the public at the start of 2026.
George’s insight impressed another Czech executive, who enlisted him to craft a U.S. entry strategy, a project he called his most rewarding collegiate challenge. Though he headed to Deloitte in Washington after graduation, HiveU remains his passion project.
