Elon Business Fellows engage in a comprehensive four-year career development process with the Porter Family Professional Development Center.

First Year

Fall

  • Submit resume between mid-October to mid-November for review
  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with a career advisor after completing resume submission

Spring

  • Attend internship panel hosted by the Porter Center
  • Complete Big Interview assignment before spring break
  • Attend at least one professional development event during first year

Second Year

Summer

  • Create and complete LinkedIn profile before the end of July

Fall

  • Update resume before Sophomore Success
  • Attend at least one professional development event
  • Attend Sophomore Success

Spring

  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with a career advisor before spring break
  • Attend trip preparation workshop
  • Engage with employers on the Business Fellows trip

Third Year

Summer

  • Complete an informational interview
  • Submit resume to virtual resume drop
  • Update LinkedIn profile before the end of July
  • Upload updated resume to EJN profile

Fall

  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with a career advisor before fall break
  • Finance, Accounting & Economics majors must meet twice in the fall
  • Attend at least one professional development event

Spring

  • All students who are still pursuing an internship must update Dr. Das and their career advisor once a month
  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with a career advisor before spring break
  • Attend at least one professional development event

Fourth Year

Summer

  • Update LinkedIn profile before the end of July
  • Review “Offer Acceptance Guidelines” email communication from the Porter Center

Fall – Spring

  • All students who are still pursuing an opportunity must update Dr. Das and their career advisor once a month
  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with a career advisor before fall break
  • Report an accepted offer to Dr. Das and the Porter Center
  • Complete the First Destination Survey
