Comprehensive Clinical Education

Elon University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program integrates academic coursework with extensive hands-on experience to prepare students for diverse patient care settings. The curriculum includes 40 weeks of clinical practice, surpassing the national average. Beginning in the second year, students engage in three eight-week clinical practicums, followed by a 16-week final practicum in the third year. These placements occur in various settings across the United States, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world environments.

A Diverse Array of Clinical Education Experiences

Elon University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program offers students diverse and immersive clinical experiences that prepare them for a wide range of patient-care settings. In addition to traditional clinical placements, Elon DPT students have opportunities for global learning experiences through the Global Learning Opportunities (GLO) program. This program provides students with the chance to engage in clinical rotations or service-learning experiences abroad, broadening their perspectives and cultural competence.
