Spring Semester/Summer Waiver Period (Feb. 15-June 15)

Students who currently have insurance and whose insurance meets the waiver criteria are not required to enroll in the Student Blue plan. To be considered for waiving the plan’s coverage, students must enter current insurance information into the portal by the enrollment deadline. Enrollment waiver dates are as follows:

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students planning to enroll for fall courses: The waiver portal opens Feb. 23 and students should upload proof of insurance before spring course registration begins. Students must upload an image of their insurance card. Students who do not currently have insurance or who do not have access to their current insurance information may indicate they plan to upload insurance documentation before June and understand they will be enrolled in the Student Blue Plan and the charge will appear on their tuition statement for the fall semester.
  • New/incoming students (undergraduate, graduate and law students) enrolling for the first time in August or September: Students must upload their insurance before June 1 or within 10 business days of their acceptance to the university.  Students who do not upload their insurance documentation by June 1 understand they will be enrolled in the Student Blue Plan and the charge will appear on their tuition statement for the fall semester.

Please note: Even after the charge appears on the tuition bill, students may continue to upload their insurance information into the system before Aug. 15. If the coverage meets the waiver criteria, the charge will be removed from their tuition bill.
