Alcohol Discussion Workshop (ADW)
We want students to make healthy and safe decisions regarding alcohol consumption while attending Elon. The Alcohol Discussion Workshop is a small group session that provides students with education and awareness on the use of alcohol, including campus safety policies.
ADW is for anyone who chooses to drink. The goal of this workshop is to raise your level of self-awareness of personal drinking behaviors and encourage you to take steps to drink responsibly. This workshop teaches you strategies to minimize your risk of experiencing negative outcomes and how to establish a plan for making low risk choices.
At Elon, we look out for one another and assume personal responsibility when it comes to intervening in situations where another student may be at risk for harm. This workshop also addresses the importance of being an active bystander and deciding when intervention is necessary, such as a medical emergency. It’s important that you are able to recognize the signs of alcohol poisoning and other potentially harmful situations that may be related to alcohol use.
