Title IX and Non-Title IX Sexual Harassment

Elon University strives to provide a safe environment for the campus community and support the institution’s educational mission at all times. Consistent with Elon University’s non-discrimination statement, the University does not tolerate discrimination or harassment of employees, students, or other individuals associated with the University including, but not limited to, vendors, contractors, and guests on the basis of any of the Protected Categories, whether actual or perceived. In addition, retaliation against any employee or student for exercising their rights under this policy or applicable non-discrimination law will not be tolerated.

The university’s Title IX Coordinator oversees compliance with all aspects of the Sexual Harassment Policy (including harassment and/or discrimination on the basis of sex or gender) under the requirements of Title IX. Questions about the policy or the institution’s response should be directed to the Title IX Coordinator.

Individuals experiencing harassment or discrimination always have the right to file a formal grievance with government authorities:
