Eric Ashley Hairston, assistant professor of English, presented a paper on January 12 at the Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities. His paper, “The Trojan Horse: Classics and Afric’ Ambition in Poems on Various Subjects Religious and Moral,” evaluated classical influences on the work of Phillis Wheatley.
