Washington, D.C. Internships

APCO Worldwide, headquartered in Washington, D.C., offers paid internships to graduate and undergraduate students. All applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and some experience or demonstrated interest in the areas in which APCO Worldwide practices.

Interns are treated as professional staff and play a key role on client service teams. They typically focus on one of APCO Worldwide’s diverse client service groups while also contributing to a wide range of project work in other areas. APCO’s Washington, D.C., client service groups include:

  • Corporate Responsibility
  • Government Relations
  • Grassroots Advocacy
  • Health care
  • Issues Management
  • Litigation Communication
  • Marketing Communication

Application Guidelines

  • Internships are offered during the summer and also on a semester basis. Summer interns work 40 hours per week, and 20 to 25 hours per week during the school year.
  • A competitive hourly wage is offered with the internship position. No other benefits are included with the position.
  • Please indicate which internship you are applying for in the subject line of your email, i.e. “CLIENT SERVICE GROUP INTERNSHIP” or “GLOBAL LEGAL INTERNSHIP.” Students applying for a client service group internship are encouraged to highlight in their cover letters which area(s) are of most interest and best suited to their skills and expertise.
  • If you are interested in opportunities for the spring semester of 2008 (internship begins in January), we are accepting resumes through November 5, 2007.
