LINCS Program – Loaves and Fishes

Elon University and Loaves and Fishes have been partners in the community for 8 years, and countless student groups have personally volunteered time at Loaves and Fishes as well as coordinated food drives in the local community.
Loaves & Fishes is a food ministry that provides groceries to food insecure families in Alamance and surrounding counties.  The ministry distributes donations of food from the local community to those families who do not have enough food.  When local donations are insufficient to meet demand, the ministry buys food at wholesale or less from the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina, located in Winston-Salem. The ministry also picks up donated food from local grocery stores. (Courtesy of loavesandfishes.us)

In the Fall Loaves and Fished will embark on a new facet of partnership with Elon, Loaves and Fishes will be recieving a LINCS student from the University to coordinate all of Elon’s volunteers.
