Elon student productions now available on Time Warner’s “Carolina On Demand” cable TV service

Several videos produced by Elon students and staff are now available to about 1.2 million subscribers to Time Warner Cable systems in North and South Carolina.

The video on demand technology allows viewers of Channel 1234 to use their remotes to select the Elon videos, and view, pause and rewind the programs. The system is available to digital subscribers in the Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham/Fayetteville, Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point, Wilmington/Newport television markets and in areas served by Time Warner Cable in South Carolina.

Programs available on the service include many episodes of popular student programs, such as Elon Phoenix Weekly, Win Stuff, One-on-One, Phoenix14 News and Elon in LA.  Several staff and student collaborative productions are also featured, including four Elon-produced HIV AIDS documentaries and two narrative films. Programs are uploaded into the Time Warner service by J. McMerty, coordinator of video projects in the School of Communications.
