A meeting between Elon students on a Winter Term study abroad course and a member of parliament in Ghana has received coverage in the Ghana media.
Parliament member George Nfodjo asked the students to spread the word about the warmth and hospitality of Ghanaians, their democracy and efforts for development.
The course is led by faculty member Brian Digre, who has been coordinating student connections with the African nation for several years. The students brought along educational materials and money they had raised to support schools in Ghana, as well as eight groundnut shelling machines that will be used by farmers.
