The Educational Foundation of NATPE, the National Association of Program Executives, founded in 1963, invites students and faculty from The Triangle and beyond to a free workshop on Saturday, April 4, 2009.

The day will start with breakfast at 9:00 am, presentations from 10:00-1:00 PM, followed by lunch and networking with panelists. Raleigh will be the 16th in this acclaimed series that has taken place in Atlanta, Austin Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, St. Louis, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.

The goal of the workshop is to inform students of the many careers in the communications field and to prepare and guide them through the process of working in the industry.

Career Workshop includes:
• A panel discussion with representatives from TV stations and an advertising agency telling how they got started and what it’s like to work in this exciting business.
• Topics addressed: preparing resumes, successful interviewing, networking and developing a career strategy
• A general Q&A session
• Face-to-face interaction with the panelists
• 9:00 am breakfast and 1:00 pm lunch
• Space is limited

Following the workshop participants are invited to tour the studios of WRAL TV 5, a short drive from McKimmon Center at 2619 Western Boulevard.

For planning purposes, all attendees are required to RSVP for the workshop to EdFound@natpe.org with “Career Workshop RSVP” in the subject line of the e-mail. Each RSVP will receive an e-mail confirmation with complete information pertaining to the event.
