Service Learning Impacting Citizenship Camp

August 3-7, 2009

The Volunteer Center of Greensboro is looking for college students to serve as group leaders during its Service Learning Impacting Citizenship Camp (SLICC). SLICC is an effort to empower local high school students to impact their community as engaged and informed citizens. In 2009, SLICC campers will explore how agriculture and hunger issues affect our community.

Each group leader will lead a team of up to ten high school students through educational activities, volunteer service, and reflection activities. Group leaders will receive training and supervision from the Volunteer Center’s staff. Group leaders are required to attend camp orientation and training on Saturday, July 18, and Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m.-5p.m.. Each group leader will be paid.
