LSM faculty research published in journals and book

Leisure and Sport Management faculty have had research featured in several publications, and during one conference presentation, in recent months.

Assistant professor Anne Marx had the following article published (April 2009) in the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (JOPERD): “An Interdisciplinary Approach to Physical Education and Sport: An in-class activity”

Associate professor Hal Walker had the following article published (Fall 2009) in The North Carolina Journal of the NCAAHPERD: “The ABC’s of Internship Success: Academic integrity, benefit to the agency, and career experience”

Assistant professor Tony Weaver and Walker had a book chapter published on “Facility Surfaces” in the 12th edition of Facility Design for Health, Fitness, Physical Activity, Recreation and Sports Facility Development, available Fall 2009.

Marx, Weaver and Walker presented a paper of their research at the North American Society for Sport Management Conference in June 2009. Its title: “An Analysis of Career Interest and Academic Preparation of Graduating Sport Management Students” in Columbia, SC at the University of South Carolina.
