Communications Internship Prep Seminars – 009 McEwen
Communications students must attend two seminars to prepare them for their internship experience in the winter and spring terms. You should sign up if:
• This is your first academic internship.
• You’re still searching for an internship, but plan to participate in a winter or spring internship.
• You will be studying abroad in the spring and plan to participate in a summer internship.
Seminars will be offered again in the spring for summer internships. Online pre-registration is required for the following:
Professional Practices for a Successful Internship – Internship Prep I 4-5 p.m., Nov. 10, 16
Discussions will be focused on how to nurture a culture of professionalism and excellence. We’ll talk about how to gain supervisor’s confidence and meet expectations, and how to make the most of this internship experience.
How to Put Together A Winning Portfolio/Reel – Internship Prep II 4-5 p.m., Nov. 12, 18
This seminar will center on how to ensure your internship will provide the best opportunity to build on your portfolio. We’ll share tips on how to use your internship work to enhance your portfolios. Students will review sample portfolios, online and hard copies.
