Elon University students taking part in the Washington Center’s winter program appeared Wednesday on C-SPAN in a televised seminar with Admiral Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Improving the health of children in Third World nations may be as simple as offering $40 loans to parents who want to start a small business. The Portland (Maine) Press-Herald profiled psychology major Elianna Lantz in a Jan. 6 story on her experience with the Costa Rica Rainforest Outward Bound program, which the newspaper described as "an 85-day semester hiking from the Pacific Coast to the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica."

More than 600 students are studying abroad over Winter Term, and the Isabella Cannon Centre for International Studies is hosting a blog for parents and friends to stay up-to-date on experiences taking place in nations such as China, South Africa and Greece.
