Feb 22 – Students Writing for a Real Audience

Having students write for a real audience – a panel discussion

RSVP by February 18 to Barbara Guy (bguy@elon.edu) to reserve a seat and a lunch

When faculty write, we think carefully about our audience. When students write in our courses, they may have a weak sense of audience. This discussion will feature faculty who teach courses that engage students in writing for actual readers beyond the classroom.

The panelists vary in their approaches and in the types of audience/publication targeted, but all help students write for an authentic audience. Do you? Could you? Panelists will be Yoram Lubling (Philosophy), Rebecca Pope-Ruark (English), Harlen Makemson (Communications), Paul Fromson (Psychology), and Heidi Frontoni (Geography).
