“Captain Abu Raed” now out in United States on DVD

A film by alumnus Laith al-Majali, "Captain Abu Raed," can now be purchased as a DVD in the United States.

Majali, a 2005 graduate, edited and produced the film, which earned the World Cinema Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. The movie tells the story of a lonely janitor at Amman’s International Airport. The janitor finds friendship with children, who think he is a pilot, by telling stories that encourages them to follow their own dreams.

Majali will return to Elon in May when he is scheduled to deliver the 120th Commencement address on Saturday, May 22nd.
