Crystal Anderson presented her paper, “Chinese School: Cross-Cultural and Transnational Strategies in "Ping Pong Playa (2007)” at the 2010 Association of Asian American Studies conference, held in Austin, Texas
Anderson’s paper explored how the film, “Ping Pong Playa (2007),” directed by Jessica Yu, teaches the audience to acknowledge an Asian American sensibility that simultaneously recognizes an Asian past and a multiethnic present using the tropes of basketball and ping pong.
