Expert Presentation on the Slender Loris on March 10

Have you ever heard of a slender loris? No? You will soon!

Join the Periclean Scholars Class of 2011 and our Periclean Scholar-in-Residence, Mr. Chamindha Mahanayake, to learn about this fascinating and beautiful primate!

Mahanayake and the loris both hail from Sri Lanka, a small island near India known both for its beautiful beaches and for its incredible biodiversity. Mahanayake is not only heavily involved in the Sri Lankan environmental movement, he is also the world’s first photographer of the Horton Plains Slender Loris, a creature thought to be extinct until his photograph was published. Since that photo, Mahanayake has devoted much of his time to studying and tracking the loris.

The talk will be Thursday, March 10 from 5 to 6pm in KOBC 101 / LaRose Digital Theater. See you there!
