“What Can I Do with a Major in Political Science or Public Administration?” – Oct. 27

Pi Sigma Alpha and the Center for Public Affairs are teaming up to co-sponsor the event “What Can I do with a Degree in Political Science or Public Administration,” this Thursday, in McKinnon D (Moseley) from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

We have a panel of speakers to talk about how they have put their degrees to use, how they approached internships, and other career advice based on their experience. The panel represents the private sector, government agencies, and recent student experience in the field:

• Kristine Silvestri (BA in Political Science and Public Administration, class of 2010) is an Analyst within the Department of Health and Human Services, where she works on issues related to implementation of the new healthcare law. While at Elon, Kristine held internships with agencies such as the Malaria Policy Center, the New Jersey Democratic Party, and Alamance Regional Medical Center.
• Josh Cohen, (BA in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill) is Director of Business Development for TransLoc, a company that provides public transportation information systems to companies, universities, and government agencies. Josh previously worked with Turnkey Sports, a sports management consulting firm, and DomoLife, a real-estate services firm.
• Cameron Scales (Class of 2012). Cameron is double majoring in political science and public administration, and has held several internships including the Virginia Governor’s Fellow Program and the Virginia General Assembly.
