Daryl Lawson receives research award

Daryl Lawson, assistant professor of physical therapy education, was selected for the second annual Wound Management Research Award by the American Physical Therapy Association Special Interest group in Wound Care during the American Physical Therapy Association Combined Section Meeting in Chicago on Feb. 9, 2012.

Dr. Lawson’s research is on the effect of monophasic vs. biphasic current on healing rate and blood flow in people with chronic wounds with and without diabetes. He plans to continue his work on chronic wounds that will not heal in people with diabetes.
