Tablet initiative: McNeela and Piland share benefits

Teaching and Learning Technologies recently launched a mobile tablet initiative, which provides tablet loans and support to faculty wanting to use tablets to engage students in the classroom.

Tablet devices have been prominent in the consumer scene in recent years and are beginning to make their way into academics. Watch the Teaching with Tablets series, produced by Teaching and Learning Technologies, to see first-hand how Catherine McNeela and Randy Piland are using tablets.

If you’re interested in incorporating mobile tablets into your classroom, Teaching and Learning Technologies has several resources available:

  • A limited amount of iPads are still available for short-term loans. Contact Media Services at 278-6598 for more information.
  • Apply for a tablet course loan to use a tablet in your classroom for the semester or academic year.
  • If you already have a tablet and are looking for suggestions, advice or other information, join TLT’s tablet user group. Email tlt@elon.edu for more information.
